Scientists Create Heart from Fat Cells

The heart has long been esteemed as the "seat of consciousness" and thought of as the connection to divinity by countless cultures. Perhaps the processing of the senses takes place in the brain, while it is the heart that truly knows and sees.

According to the Buddhist Abhidharma (psychological texts), cittas (or discrete "moments of consciousness") emerge from the heart and move through the blood to the region of the pineal gland and back. This is "spiritual biology" that is directly "visible" to adept meditators. But what is directly visible and personally verifiable differs from what physical biology has currently extrapolated and inferred thus far. Whatever the case, the human heart is much more than an ordinary muscle, which makes this recent scientific development quite amazing:
