Zoroastrianism's winged discs (UK)
This presentation by the late great linguist, historian, and author Zecharia Sitchin is about his 70 years of research. Sitchin (1920-2010) was an Azerbaijani-born American author investigating human origins by way of ancient astronauts. Sitchin attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture (Persian Empire) to the Anunnaki, "those who from the sky came" in winged disks.

The Asuras were cast off Sumeru to Earth
These beings -- possibly the Ashuras/Ahuras of Buddhist and Vedic/Indian lore descending from high atop Mt. Sumeru (the Near East/Central Asia spaceport in Sumer, Sumeria (modern Iraq/Iran) -- were revered by Zoroaster (Zarathustra). The religion, displacing those Indian/Indus Valley Civilization traditions revering the devas -- evolved, Mithra, mysteries, Ahura-Mazda, which is the basis of a great deal of Christianity as originated in Persia (Iran) and followed in Mithraism and Zoroastrianism, Iranis, and Parsis of India.

The Anunnaki was a race of extraterrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru or Nirbiru. This hypothetical planet is understood to be on an elongated, elliptical orbit within our Earth's solar system. Sitchin asserts that Sumerian history/mythology -- which is at the root of Vedic, Egyptian, Islamic, and Judeo-Christian lore -- is the origin of this view. His books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 26 languages.
