Mardi Gras, Carnival: party before Lent (video)

(TIME Feb. 28, 2017) Crowds gather to celebrate Mardi Gras, or "Fat Tuesday," New Orleans
.
Quick, more beads for Shania Twain!
(WQ) Today is Mardi Gras (French for "Fat Tuesday") before Wednesday as "Lent" begins for the majority of people on the planet, who are nominal Catholics due to the Holy Roman Empire's lingering success from Mithra Headquarters at Vatican, Inc. Italy is a relatively new country, formed in 1861.

Before that, it was the Papal States when the Pope was a "god-king," ruling spiritual and secular matters, a form of governance followed by Tibetan Buddhists at the seat of power of their former Himalayan empire run from Potala Palace with a Dalai Lama and other rival lamas just like the papal system in what became Italy. It's clear these were regents for a sky "king" or "kings" who came, set up shop, and promised to return.

I'm supposed to be the Messiah, Sid. - Go for it.
The Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhists are still waiting for Maitreya ("Messiah") the Future Buddha to "come again," not as Shakyamuni Buddha who has attained nirvana and completely transcended rebirth, but of a recurring lama or rimpoche who comes again and again to guide his people, the Tibetans.

Could these two systems possibly have arisen independently? No, of course not.

If you want a Second Coming, you'll get it.
Jews from Israel traveled a path of commerce along between ancient Palestine and Ladakh (now in Himalayan Buddhist India, formerly a part of Greater Tibet, where Jesus traveled to study at Hemis Gompa, a Buddhist monastery, according to Nicolas Notovitch, Holger Kersten (our favorite), Swami Abedananda (who retraced and confirmed Notovitch's discovery), and many other scholars, researchers, and authors.

It's also Carnival in Brazil but not yet in the Netherlands and Pancake Day somewhere in Europe.

"One time of year people can act like fools"
Float riders toss beads during Krewe of Bacchus Mardi Gras parade, New Orleans, 2-26-17.

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (AP) - The streets of New Orleans are filled with costumed revelers, dazzling floats featuring kings and queens, and people of all ages screaming [and flashing breasts] for trinkets and beads. Lots of beads. Tuesday marks the culmination of the Carnival season, which started January 6.

It may be Mardi Gras, but don't DUI.
Mardi Gras is "the one time of year people can act like fools and get away with it," said one reveler [forgetting that Halloween and New Year's Eve are massive events], Craig Channell. Channell, his wife, Darlene Channell, and friend Dian Walsh were visiting from Tampa, Florida.

Host Bill Tucker pulled a wagon holding a big cooler and four roll-up chairs. The group was among 30 or so people who took the 7:00 am ferry Tuesday to Canal Street. The crowd included people in tutus and a half-dozen pirates.

Let loose, be who you want to be (AP).
The biggest parades take place along the St. Charles Avenue parade route, where the Krewe of Zulu kicked off the morning's parades and then was followed by the Krewe of Rex. Pete Fountain's Half-Fast Walking Club strutted from the famed Commander's Palace restaurant to the French Quarter, tossing beads and doubloons to recordings of his music.

This one year, a guy drove into the crowd.
Fountain, a clarinetist, died in August of last year, but the club members -- decked out from hat to shoes in nearly fluorescent spring green -- were carrying on the tradition.

The sidewalk along St. Charles Avenue near Canal Street barely had room for pedestrians. People were sitting two rows of chairs deep while families had set up ladders with seats on top for their children to sit on and catch throws. More

No ruling yet on Dakota Access pipeline work

Associated Press (ap.org); Pat Macpherson, Xochitl, Seth Auberon (eds.) Wisdom Quarterly
Ritual fire set by protesters burns in background as militant proponents of Dakota Access pipeline shut down main protest camp near Cannon Ball, N.D. Federal judge will hear arguments Feb. 28th on whether to stop the final bit of construction on the disputed line, perhaps just days before it could start moving oil (Tom Stromme/The Bismarck Tribune/AP).

No immediate ruling made on Dakota Access pipeline work

WASHINGTON, DC - A federal judge said today (Feb. 28, 2017) that he'll decide within a week whether to temporarily halt construction of the final section of the Dakota Access pipeline over claims that it violates the religious rights of two Indian tribes.

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg told lawyers at a hearing that he wants to issue a ruling before oil begins flowing in the pipeline, which could be weeks away.

Judge Boasberg is considering a request by the Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Sioux tribes to order the Army Corps of Engineers to withdraw permission to lay pipe under Lake Oahe in North Dakota.

The pipeline has prompted months of protests [from peacefully demonstrating Water Protectors engaged in legal civil disobedience while bankers break the law] and [led lawbreaking bankers to push violent police to make] hundreds of arrests.

The stretch under the Missouri River reservoir is the last piece of construction for the $3.8 billion pipeline, which would move oil through the Dakotas and Iowa to a shipping point in Illinois.

Tribal attorney Nicole Ducheneaux argued during the 1½ hour hearing that the mere existence of an oil pipeline under the reservoir that provides water to neighboring reservations violates their right to practice their religion, which relies on clean water.

Boasberg asked Ducheneaux how there could be a contamination issue if "the pipeline itself doesn't even touch the water." "Can you claim a property interest in the land as well as the water?" he asked. More

Treasure: "oldest" Iron Age gold work in Britain!

BBC.com News; Pat Macpherson, CC Liu (eds.) Wisdom Quarterly
Iron Age gold jewelry has been discovered by treasure hunters (Leekfrith torcs).

"Oldest" Iron Age gold work in Britain found in Staffordshire
Two friends have unearthed jewellery which could be the oldest Iron Age gold discovered in Britain.

Mark Hambleton, who went back to metal detecting after advice from his late father, made the find with Joe Kania, on Staffordshire Moorlands farmland.

The three necklaces and bracelet are believed to be about 2,500 years old [from around the time of the Buddha teaching in India and Central Asia].

Their find was declared treasure at an inquest led by coroner Ian Smith, who joked it was likely to be "worth a bob or two."

Julia Farley, of the British Museum, described the discovery, called the Leekfrith Iron Age Torcs, as a "unique find of international importance."
  • For more on this and other Stoke and Staffordshire news
  • WIKI: The torcs were made on the European continent, somewhere in the area of modern Germany or France, in the fourth or third century BC (400-250 BC). They are some of the oldest examples of Iron Age gold, and of Celtic ornament, ever found in Britain. They have been accredited by Julia Farley, Curator of European Iron Age Collections, Prehistory and Europe at the British Museum, who called them a "unique find of international importance."
"Invaluable insight"
Dr Farley, the museum's curator of British and European Iron Age collections, said: "It dates to around 400-250 BC and is probably the earliest Iron Age gold work ever discovered in Britain.

"The torcs were probably worn by wealthy and powerful women, perhaps people from the Continent who had married into the local community...." More

Talking to "God" Ram Dass in 2017 (video)

Koi Fresco, Feb. 23, 2017; Crystal Quintero, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Koi FrescoOur new favorite head, Koi Fresco (or "fresh goldfish"), was in Ojai, California recently on a retreat with GOD (someone at one with para-Brahman).

Via Skype, of course, because GOD doesn't have time to be everywhere all the time like his/her reputation would suggest. Koi is no longer a Hesher, having given up the herb, so with a clear mind and a pure heart, he went in search of darshan and found it in the company of groovy 1960s' Western guru Ram Dass's (former Harvard Professor Richard Alpert), now 85-years-old, author of the famous Hippie-Hindu-Buddhist classic Be Here Now. Here Koi sends in a video report.

Poison in medical POT supply: pesticides

Denver7 – The Denver Channel(Denver7) Lab says pesticides stay on marijuana much longer. Unlike California, Colorado has standards. [When smoked burning makes pesticides much more toxic. California produces the most weed yet has no regulations on toxic additives -- flavorants, fungicides, preservatives.]

Pesticide laced pot: lab results, statements
Vaping would be safer except for pesticides.
Here are the complete results of Steep Hill Lab's testing of marijuana products purchased from 15 California dispensaries in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.

At each dispensary, NBC4 bought one sample of flower marijuana (bud commonly used for smoking) and one brand of "vape" cartridge (which are filled with concentrated cannabis oil, petrochemical flavorants, other chemicals, and used for inhaling marijuana vapor).

There are no standardized names or label rules.
Some dispensaries also gave out complimentary samples since the NBC4 buyers were first-time customers.

NBC4 obtained 44 products in all. And Steep Hill Labs in Berkeley, one of the largest cannabis testing labs in the nation, tested them for 16 pesticides.

Forty-one out of 44 of the samples, or 93 percent, tested positive for pesticides above the allowable limits in Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, and Nevada. [California has no limits and does not regulate the poisoning of medical marijuana for public consumption.]

These are states that currently regulate the use of pesticide in cannabis and are being used as models for possible future California regulations. Currently, California does not regulate the use of pesticides in marijuana, but the state says it will have regulations in place by January 2018.

Who regulates California pot shops for naming, potency, CBC, THC, pesticides? (KFI AM)
.
California does not regulate the testing of marijuana products by commercial laboratories for potency, poisons, fumigants, additives, or anything else. State officials have yet to develop standards for product testing.

As a result, there can be discrepancies in test results from lab to lab. Several dispensaries and manufacturers tell NBC4 that the labs they have used to test their products provided them with different results than Steep Hill Lab.

The list of results tells one the dispensary where the items were purchased, the name/type of items, the total pesticide levels, and whether they would have passed or failed regulations in other states.

The pass/fail determination in those states is based on the levels of individual pesticides. If a product exceeds the limit on any of them, the product cannot be sold.

NBC4 has provided total levels on the chart. Individual levels for each pesticide can be found in the attached lab reports. More

Brit model Jodie Marsh goes sex free (video)

Olivia-anne Cleary (DailyStar.co.uk); CC Liu, Crystal Quintero (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Jodie, know why you don't want sex? Ask Dr. Mate. What about the Grand Canyon?
.
"Stop"? I don't get it! What is it now?!
The former glamour model -- who likes both men and women -- has openly talked about her sexual appetite in the past, but she has now taken a drastic turn.

Speaking at a National Student Pride event at the University of Westminster this past weekend, Marsh stunned the young audience by claiming that she's lost all interest in anything sex-related.

Opening up to the crowd, she revealed: "Honest truth? I am asexual right now. I don’t want sex with anybody. I’m not interested in sex with anybody."

Explaining her new outlook, Marsh admitted she is going through somewhat of an identity crisis. More + VIDEO

Lana Del Rey and witches put spell on Trump

Ashley Wells, Seth Auberon, Dhr. Seven, CC Liu, Wisdom Quarterly; FOX; A Call for Uprising

Failed lovesick supermodel singer Lana Del Rey loves America has a new song, "Love."

(Lana Del Rey) "Dangerous Girl." Are Warlock Podesta and cool Katy involved? Lyrics below.

Hi, my name is Lizzy Lana.
There are good witches and bad witches. Hillary and her West Coast coven are examples of "bad" witches, whereas neo-blues chanteuse Lana Del Rey have set their sights on "binding" (spiritually restraining) autocrat Trump from doing serious harm.

A series of midnight spells carried out during successive crescent moons, when such spells are apparently more efficacious, though one would think the full moon is the time for that, are underway.

Why? To save the world from the sexist patriarch who is filling the DC swamp with billionaires, who care more about profits and promoting the once-dying Republican party than the people they "serve."

My disciples will take care of this.
No word on what alt-right Pres. Steve Bannon -- former Breitbart editor -- thinks of the "curse" or "hex," but he likely has some retaliation planned.

(Bannon and Kellyanne Conway were recruited by a billionaire and his daughter approached by Ivanka Trump to get Daddy Trump elected when he was flagging and in desperate need of help, according to KPFK.org, and were then installed to give control of the White House to the real movers and shakers who paid for the best "democracy" money can buy).

Fearful conservative Christians could try a counter-spell to free Trump to "do what thou wilt" with the country and our future. There's no telling in this war of principalities.

Pres. Bannon -- the Dick Cheney to idiotic Trump's G.W. Bush -- is anti-female (Cosmo).

Let me be your "Dangerous Girl"
Lyrics by Lana Del Rey

"I'm America's sweetheart."
He's my drugstore cowboy, Italian alloy, classical American. And I'm America's sweetheart, cute, delicious, sweet tart, sipping on my Diet Coke, singin' in the trailer park.

He likes my jeans tight (yeah). He likes me mean, right? (Right). He likes my long hair, corset, heels high. I'm born to kill, stripped for success. I'm his sweet mess. Do you love me? Yes, yes! Hell, yes!

Baby, I'm a four alarm fire, and I'm what you desire, like a siren in the night (di nero-nero). Baby, you's a man on a wire, risking all that you've got for the love of your life. (You're my hero, hero). Let me be your dangerous girl...

"Let me be your dangerous girl."
He's the get-rich-quick type, Mafioso hit type. Girl, I'm gonna marry him! I'm the bad girl next door. Baby's always wantin' more, buyin' diamond jewelry, take me to the Jersey Shore.

He likes my mink white (white). We go out all night (night). We're living off the grid shining in the crime life. We were born to kill, best of the best, the new Wild West. Honey, put on that party dress. Hell, yes!

Me and my baby planning world domination, together taking over our fair nation. 'Cause we're born to kill, keepin' it fresh, gold chain, white mesh. Fame is the name of the game, yes yes! (Yes, yes, yes, yes)....Let me be your dangerous girl.
